This Cushion is made from "Tango Chirimen" which is a specialty product from the Tango region of Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The fabric of this cushion is certified by the Tango Textile Industry Cooperative. Tango boasts a history dating back over 1300 years as a renowned hub for silk weaving.

"Chirimen" (silk crepe) employs two kinds of hard-twist yarns, right twist and left twist, as the weft. These are combined alternately with the warp and woven into a silk textile with fine unevenness on the surface of the fabric. "Chirimen" is a textile distinguished by its remarkable attributes of resistance to wrinkles and swift wrinkle recovery.

Weaving fabric using twisted yarn is an exceedingly intricate art. It demands a nuanced sense that can only be acquired through experience, such as adjusting the tension of the warp threads and controlling the rotational speed for inserting the weft threads. However, artisans of "Tango Chirimen", through decades of accumulated expertise, have mastered the manipulation of twisted yarn with such finesse that they weave fabrics possessing a rare and globally acclaimed allure, akin to the rhythm of breathing.

The "En" in "En-Musubi" refers to the connection between people, while "Musubi" means to tie or bind. This cushion, being the inaugural piece of our brand, was named with the hope of fostering a positive connection with our customers.

Japanese KIMONOs are typically crafted from a rectangular piece of fabric measuring 12m by 40cm. By cutting and repurposing this elongated KIMONO fabric, this cushion was brought to life. Consequently, there are only eleven cushions in the world with the same design, making it a special and precious item. Due to variations in the cutting process, the design may differ slightly from the product image. Thank you for your understanding in advance.
